Frequently Asked Questions:

"It is cultural appropriation for a non-Indigenous person to wear Indigenous-made beadwork?"

No. This is a widely shared view among Indigenous beadwork artists. By purchasing Indigenous-made beadwork, you are supporting and showing deep reverence for Indigenous Peoples. Historically, Indigenous Peoples were devastatingly prohibited from our culture and language. Today, we are slowly and collectively healing, and proudly embracing our Indigenous identities, cultures and languages. Proudly wearing Indigenous-made beadwork shows support and respect, if it is made by an Indigenous artist. However, if an non-Indigenous person sells Indigenous-style jewelry, then that is cultural appropriation.

Lastly, I would never list anything for sale that shouldn't be worn or used by a non-Indigenous person.

"Where do you ship from?"

Minnesota, USA

"When will my order ship?"

Everything in the online store is ready to ship, and I usually get packages out within 1-2 business days.

"Why is shipping so expensive?"

Shipping rates are determined by the United States Postal Service, and I unfortunately cannot control those. I like using the USPS to ship my items to you as they offer package insurance and have tracking numbers. I do offer free shipping within the US for orders $100+.

"Do you attend events so I can shop in-person?"

Yes. Occasionally I attend craft shows or other events where you can shop in person, I usually announce when and where I'll be setting up shop on my Instagram and Facebook in advance.

"Why are your items so expensive?"

The cost of supplies and my time are carefully calculated per creation; sometimes they are made with more expensive materials, or that project took a long time.

Please see this post for a more detailed explanation.

"Do you take custom orders?"

Currently, yes. I'll take orders for: earrings, lanyards, medallions and/or pins. I do them in the order they are confirmed. My contact information is in the footer of all pages or on my business cards.

"Why do you name your items?"

I name my creations simply because it's fun. The names may also give you insight as to what I may have been thinking of when creating that item.
